A full, abundant life
You've seen my articles about the Bible, Christianity, and what it means to live as a Christian.
Is it a different life? Definitely. Are there some "rules" that go along with it? Yes. The exact nature of some of the rules is debatable. Others, such as "Don't murder", "Don't steal", and "Don't covet" are ones that all of us agree on.
Some would say "Don't look at good-looking women who aren't wearing much". For instance, Cloud Nine Higher promotional models.
Some would say that this is a lust of the flesh. I say that it is good, clean, healthy fun for all involved.
In any event, God gives us his Holy Scripture and guides us to protect us. We don't move in the same way that the rest of the world moves.
But we don't live boring lives, either.
Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
You read that right: Jesus wants you to have abundance. A full life of pleasure. The world's definition of pleasure often does not match the Christian definition of the same.
Prayer is a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God wants you to pray and to present all sorts of requests to him. You should also give thanks with a grateful heart and praise the one who made you and who blesses you beyond belief, even when you don't realize it.
God is good but mysterious. His timing is not always our timing. This life is hard, and becoming a Christian doesn't make it easy.
But God promises never to abandon us, even in our darkest times.
"He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
