When the going gets tough ...

... the men get going. This life is not a cake walk, a party house, or Dream Hotel (the place where I like to hang in downtown Nashville and that has other locations in North America).
If you "live the dream", you had better enjoy your work. Your work will make your dreams come true. If work stinks, your life will stink, too. If work rocks, guess what ...
Life will toss you curveballs and hand you defeats. These two situations are inevitable. The best way to respond is to stay strong, perseverant, and not get too "fired up" by the victories or too "stung" by the defeats.
The prime example for me is recent court appearances. Some recent cases have produced big and positive results for me and my clients. I love this.
Others, despite my best efforts and my system of practice in juvenile court, have fallen flat. I won't get into the details, but, in short, bad breaks can steer me and my clients "off course" in more ways than one.
Of course, there are plenty of parent clients in juvenile court who are "off course" and who need to be treated with "tender loving care" and, oftentimes, "tough love".
Those who listen and who follow the guidance from my correspondence will prosper. Those who don't? Best of luck to them.

I work hard for my clients. At the end of the day, however, I head for home. It is up to them to follow my direction and legal advice. It is up to me to communicate and to advocate for them in court and in key meetings about their children.
It is always hard to tell a client that a case is lost. But most folks know that I am just communicating the truth. I try to guide them to the best closure possible.
I treat them as I would want to be treated. This includes all parents and youths who I represent in juvenile court.
Sometimes you're up. Sometimes you're down. But, if you're good, you'll always be learning. Learning produces better results over time.
Going through a tough spell in your life?
Check out a cool Bible passage from the book of James:
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
